In an article about the Netflix series Wednesday, Screen Rant references my book, Funny You Should Ask. In an interview with the late co-creator of The Munsters, Allan Burns, he mentions that he and Chris Hayward originally envisioned The Munsters as an Addams Family-like group of eccentrics. However, the duo was not involved in the development of the series, and Universal Studios added the aspect of the Munsters being a family of movie monster characters, except, of course, for Marilyn Munster.
Find out more about the connection on Screen Rant. And learn a lot more about early sitcom writing by ordering Funny You Should Ask.
Stay tuned next week for the conclusion of my series on the Monday night at 9:00 timeslot on CBS.
